Happy 2017!

It's hard to believe that 2017 is upon us. As long as I can remember the holiday season would always bring out thoughts of days gone by. Some memories are pleasant and others painful.  I'd feel warmth, love and emptiness all at the same time.

I don't get reflective in that way anymore, nor do I look to the future. For me, there is no point to it. My memories mean a lot to me but the past has already been lived, and whatever will happen in the future will happen regardless of what I have planned. 

I live for today. It doesn't matter what kind of day today turns out to be.  It's a precious day that only comes around once.
